Voted Outright Winner Of 2019 BETA Export Award
Science Supplements®, the Northampton-based company responsible for the creation of a portfolio of high grade, clinically proven equestrian feed supplements, won a prestigious national award at this week’s 2019 BETA (British Equestrian Trade Association) Business Awards in recognition of its exporting excellence.
The Science Supplements brand has enjoyed significant success both in the UK and overseas, based on its commitment to develop products that are clinically proven to deliver clear benefits to a horse’s performance, health and well-being. The range, which has won the highly credible support of respected industry scientists, veterinary practitioners and experts in equine exercise, physiology and nutrition, was first launched in the UK in 2014 and has since gone on to expand its distribution to over half a dozen European markets.
The company was announced as the official winner of the Ceris Burns Equestrian Export Award at the BETA Awards Gala Dinner on Monday 21st January, having also been shortlisted for two additional categories (Online Retailer of the Year and Nutritional Helpline of the Year). The award was presented to Science Supplements in recognition of the company’s sustained increases in export activity over a three-year period. Judges remarked on how the appointment of an export manager, partnerships with leading feed companies in Germany and Finland, and adapting product packaging as well as developing bespoke new products for certain markets, had been instrumental in Science Supplements’ considerable success in key overseas markets.
Commenting Commercial Director Vicky Mitson says, “We are delighted to have won this award, which underpins Science Supplement’s position as a powerful player in the global equine supplements market. Our success is clearly associated not only with the proven efficacy of the products, which are all developed in response to respected scientific studies, but also with the dedication and hard work of the Science Supplements team, both in the UK and overseas. As we enter 2019 the future looks bright for the business, with the announcement of our biggest ever investment - £1.1m - into research, development and production, which we anticipate will leverage further highly credible endorsement from professionals associated with the equestrian industry.”
As you may have noticed, a few of our famous rider friends and Science Supplement Ambassadors joined the Science Supplement Team at the ceremony.
